Memorial Day Weekend often marks the unofficial start of summer, with barbecues and parties to celebrate. However, officially, Memorial Day is a day to honor and remember those that have served in the American Armed Forces. Here are some events you can attend to remember the meaning of the holiday, and get out and about.
Each town typically puts on a parade for Memorial Day. The City of Rochester is holding its parade on Monday, May 25 at 10:30, starting on East Avenue
In Letchworth State Park, on Sunday, the Red, White, and Blue Balloon Rally is taking place where a mass amount of balloons will be launched over the park. Park admission is $8.
If you are on campus today, chances are you’ve heard the Navy Blue Angels practicing for the Rochester International Airshow taking place during the holiday weekend at the Rochester Airport. In additional to mesmerizing acrobatics in the sky, the Airshow also features concerts. More information here.
